About 

Servus Credit Union Free Soccer Friday has been created as an extra opportunity for interested youth to play the game they love, to keep kids active, to create new opportunities for youth to access sport, and to encourage unstructured play.

This is a free drop-in style soccer opportunity for youth of all ages, abilities, and skill levels to participate in sport, make new friends and stay active – no previous soccer experience required!

Spring Schedule 

Taking place the first three Friday’s of March - November, and at venues in three quadrants of the city, youth can ‘sign up’ to participate in any or all of CMSA’s Servus Credit Union Free Soccer Friday events! Please bring appropriate footwear for soccer.

Benefits of Unstructured Play

• No set matches, no coaches, no adult influence or direction.
• Kids are free to play how they want, whether that’s a game, kicking against a wall, or just running around and making friends!
• Unstructured play helps kids develop self-confidence, advocate for themselves, communicate effectively, and build friendships - all essential for psychological and social growth.
• Mixed-age play fosters empathy and leadership while helping children develop skills beyond soccer.
• It’s important for kids to have time to play freely and express themselves without too much adult influence!

 
Supervision and Safety
CMSA staff will be on site to ensure the safety of youth and will dedicate a field to children under 6 when space permits. Parents are not permitted to play due to safety and participant insurance. However, if your child is under 6, one (1) parent will be permitted on the field to provide support and assist their child in getting comfortable. Other considerations may be made – please chat with a CMSA staff member!
