Calgary Minor Soccer Association would like to inform our members of a unique opportunity provided for athletes.

Podium Alberta Funding Program provides funding to Alberta’s high-performance athletes to help cover costs related to training, equipment, and living expenses.  Brought by Alberta Ministry of Tourism and Sport.

Athletes can be originally from Alberta and currently residing elsewhere for various reasons, or from out of province and currently residing in Alberta (for at least three years prior to being eligible for funding). Athletes may not receive funding from more than one provincial or territorial jurisdiction.

Podium Alberta is a retroactive funding program, and the current application intake is reviewing July 1, 2023-June 30, 2024 (Year in Review). Athletes must be carded through Sport Canada’s Athlete Assistance Program at any point during those 12 months (even if no longer carded) to be eligible to apply.

Athletes must have been a member of their Alberta Provincial Sport Organization (in this case, the Alberta Soccer Association) for the applicable competition season during the Year in Review.
