Calgary Wild Academy Program

Calgary Wild Academy Program

The Wild Academy program is currently running a Winter part-time training program, operating two evenings a week at the Macron Performance Centre in Calgary. Following an evaluation process in coordination with the ASA and club TDs, the Wild Academy Program has enlisted several talented girls from various clubs around the province to join the program. Players born between 2007 and 2010 include those with experience in the ASA High-Performance Program in League 1 AB last season and some new faces too.

The program began with a Parent & Player welcome event full of smiles on November 1st at McMahon Stadium (home of the Wild!), where the girls got their kits and heard from Deanna Zumwalt (Board Chair of Calgary Wild). The winter program will run until March, featuring Sports Science sessions, Goalkeeper-specific work, and on-field training by experienced and qualified staff. Each player will be mentored and receive individual development plans.

Two weeks into the training program, the Wild Academy Program has been thrilled to see all the girls engaging so well and looks forward to watching them grow throughout the program.
