Calgary was host to the Alberta REX Integration Camp over the May 3-5 weekend. The camp saw twenty-six U15 boys from across Alberta, including 13 Calgary-based players, come together to be immersed in the tactical ID of Canada Soccer and the match day protocols of a national team event. It proved to be a valuable experience for players to showcase themselves for further youth national team tracking, but also for the local coaches to continue upskilling themselves. This is one of six provincial integration camps for Canada Soccer and the U15 REX (Regional Excel) program, directed by Mike Vitulano. The camp was a collaboration between the Canada Soccer Association (CSA), Alberta Soccer Association (ASA), and Cavalry FC. This camp and others of its kind are pivotal opportunities for youth soccer players, offering adolescents in Alberta a path to furthering their talents to professional soccer, Canadian national teams, and athletic scholarships. CMSA looks forward to continuing the growth of soccer in Canada through more collaborative events that showcase local talent and fuel the future success of Alberta soccer players.
